Currently, he performs with his marimba quartet, Without Borders, who has recorded their very own marimba quartet transcription of Bartok’s “String Quartet No. 5.” The ensemble has toured with the work; performing it in Taiwan, Japan, Ithaca, NY and Warrensburg, MO. Will is pursuing is DMA at James Madison University under the instruction of Casey Cangelosi. During his masters program at Ithaca College, he was a founding member of the Ithaca College Graduate Percussion Quartet. While at Ithaca College, he had the privilege of performing with several world renowned artists such as Gordon Stout, Valerie Naranjo, and Gif Howarth. He was a part of many ensembles there including the Ithaca College Wind Ensemble, Brass Choir, Contemporary Ensemble, Jazz Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, and Steel Band. Orchestrally, Will has performed with the South Bend Symphony, Southwest Symphony Orchestra, The Orchestra of the Finger Lakes, Cornell Symphony Orchestra, and The Kalamazoo Singers. In the marching arts, Will has performed with Northcoast Academy and the Western Michigan University Marching Band. He is the drummer for the rock band, Capt. Separated by four states and six hundred miles, founding members Will Alderman and Andrew Garay began collaborating remotely. Will and Andrew met while studying at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. While the idea to start the duo was not immediate, after performing together in a variety of outlets, the musical connection soon became clear. However, it wasn't until after Will had completed his studies and moved home to Kalamazoo, Michigan that the duo was formed. The EP was released in the fall of 2014.
